Everyone wants to know why this blog is called Hospital Songs. In part, it was inspired by the concept of “elevator music” and that light jazz they pipe through when you’re on hold for customer service. I guess it’s supposed to amuse, relax us — something like that. Keep us passive.

But we can’t do that in the business of health care.

Dr. Rob says that if you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu. We can listen to bad hospital music or good hospital music. So there you go.

But, just for fun, since there are plenty of songs about hospitals, medicine, and the business of health care, here I will be listing these as I come across them.
